About Me

My name is Liz Griffin and I am a DONA certified birth doula. I provide services to women in the Tidewater area, including Chesapeake, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Portsmouth, and the surrounding areas.

I have three children of my own. My first experience was via induction and included many interventions. My second son was born in an unmedicated hospital birth with the help of my husband and doula. It was after he was born that I realized what an empowering feeling it was to take charge of my own birth experience. As I began looking into birth, it became clear that every woman deserves to have a say in her birth experiences. I am passionate about informed birth and my hope is to share this passion with women and their families as they welcome their new babies into the world.  My third son was born in a birth center with a midwife, doula, and my husband for support.

I live in Chesapeake, VA, with my wonderful husband and our three boys. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Belmont University. I taught music in an elementary school for 10 years before choosing to stay home with my children and finding my calling to the doula profession. I also love to cook, read, sing, and spend time with my family. I am active in my church and local music education organizations. My love of music and my passion for birth were the inspiration for the name “Natural Harmony.”
